I love working with words – whether I’m editing a scholarly book or brainstorming product names, I love to tinker until the words are just right.

During my years of freelance editing, I’ve focused on academic books and those that more generally help people learn and improve their lives. I love working with the authors of these books because they have such passion and conviction about the importance of their message, which I can then help them get out into the world.

I earned my PhD in English at the University of California, Berkeley, where I wrote my dissertation, Scandalous Figures, Authorial Selves, about four authors from the British “long eighteenth century.” My bachelor’s and master’s degrees are in English literature and creative writing from Dartmouth College and Boston University. I have spent my whole career with words – as a writer, editor, adjunct professor, and blogger.
